As Linux guys used to say the best way to learn a new tech is to read the code… Well, there are many who are technically inclined but do not have the time or inclination to learn smart contract programming in Solidity or other languages.
There are 2 great resources to get you beyond blockchain concepts without the need to run or connect to ethereum.
– Etherscripter has Lego-like visual building blocks and many examples on how a smart contract program is put together and run. This is a great intro to smart contract language
– Mintchalk is a bit more advanced – you can wtite and test your Solidity smart contract code, use many examples and use cases for smart contracts and run the code on the browser. No testnet or ETH blockchain, geth or Mint client needed.
